Everyone considers the death knight class overpowered in PvP, but what most of the players don't know is that being effective in any PvP situation, this type of character must play all its cards properly. I'm writing this death knight PvP guide to help all the players understand this class better and to have an arena or battlegrounds higher performance.

The basics of playing a death knight in PvP

In this part of my death knight PvP guide I will outline the general characteristics of this class' gameplay in PvP. Unlike for other classes, the PvP gameplay is much a lot different from the PvE. The only difference is that in PvP, as a DK you must use a lot more abilities to be efficient. The most important thing for obtaining the maximum efficiency of your DK is knowing and understanding how to use your runes. You must learn how to manage the cooldowns of your runes and abilities to deal the maximum damage possible in a short period of time. The best spec for PvP as a DK is unholy. This spec grants you the control of e very powerful pet. The pet alone can deal with the lesser armored classes like rogues for example, and you need to know exactly what class to target when you send your pet to attack. The AoEs that the DK class possesses are very effective especially against stealthed units and they are also very intimidating for any opponent, making them try to run away. The role of the death knight in PvP battlegrounds

This section of my death knight PvP guide focuses the attributions of this class in any of the five battlegrounds. As I said, DKs are a heavy DPS class. Using PvE DPS equipment they make fearful attack pieces, being able to bring down 2-3 opponents at one time. A DK can also be an excellent defender if they team up with a healer. I have seen the other day a base defended by a holy paladin and a DK against seven attackers for several minutes. In the battlegrounds based on flag capturing, a DK can be a good flag carrier. The role of the death knight in PvP arena

For the arena gameplay any DK should use resistant gear, to be one of the last players standing. The damage done by a DK with defensive equipment is pretty decent, so no matter in which bracket you play arena, this class is the heavy DPS type. Your targets are the lesser armored, the casters or the healers. Using the silencing and the interruption spells, this class can be a heavy burden for an opponent healer, even if you don't kill him you can play as a support for your team. Managing your runes at maximum is a must for DK to be efficient in arena.
